Unix & Linux Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for users of Linux, FreeBSD and other Un*x-like operating systems.. It's 100% free, no registration required.

In RHEL5, my internal secondary hard disk (1TB) suddenly fails to mount after some unexpected power failure and after my system got off.

But it's showing in BIOS and while Booting checking as sdb device.

I had tried list in /sbin/fdisk -l, but I didn't find that disk in list. It contains Some IMP data in it.

Recently I added this 1TB HDD as a secondary and mounted it and it worked fine.

How do you resolve this issue without losing data. I need an step-by-step solution as I'm new to Linux.

If you need more information, please tell me so.
