Unix & Linux Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for users of Linux, FreeBSD and other Un*x-like operating systems.. It's 100% free, no registration required.

Some of my favorite games are not yet available on Steam for Linux. Some of these non-compatible games are playable via Play On Linux (Wine wrapper + magic).

How does Steam installed via Play On Linux report the host machine to Valve/Steam? Is it reporting Windows, or is it truly showing I'm playing on Linux and therefore supporting Linux Desktop?
