I have just installed Linux Mint 16 kde and started to populate my desktop with my favorite programs. I find that the icons are frozen in place on the desktop. What I want to do is have the icons line up along the left side of the desktop, just like Mint 15 or any version of Windows. Can anyone help?

Have you tried right clicking on the desktop? There should be an option for ordering the icons. – terdon Jan 19 '14 at 14:43
No there is'nt, uunable to unlock icons have tried everything – user74571 Jul 5 '14 at 10:24
@BJacks are you also using KDE? I haven't used KDE in a few years but I seem to recall they've changed their desktop paradigm. Not how the icons work there anymore. – terdon Jul 5 '14 at 12:02
